The Ruins of Hammershus castle
Hammershus Castle Ruin is situated at the key strategic point which is the far northern tip of Bornholm. The castle was erected in the thirteenth century on the orders of the Archbishop of Lund. It became a Danish Royal possession after the Reformation. It was effectively abandoned in the eighteenth century. Its remains remain a popular attraction. It is located in dramatic and rugged countryside on the Baltic coast, on a cliff top.
