Helligdomsklipperne

Helligdomsklipperne roughly translates as “The Sanctuary Cliffs” in English. These are several dramatic coastal rock formations on the northern coast of Bornholm. Rø Kjijla, at the base of one of these, was a medieval pilgrimage site, believed to pour forth holy water. The action of wind, rain and water has carved extraordinary shapes, clefts and caves into these rocks, some of which are over twenty metres high.
